Small Successes and Thankful Thursdays • Vol. 19

My nineteenth weekly edition of Small Successes for moms (hosted over at Faith and Family Live!)...as they say, it’s important for moms to recognize that all the small successes in our days can add up to one big triumph.
  1. I survived 'baby diaper armageddon'. At times, I am amazed at how little grosses me out anymore. We were just getting to Lindsay's wedding and it was not the ideal of starts to shooting all afternoon.
  2. I cleaned the Eglu by myself. Clearly, this whole week was about poop. Cleaning after 3 chickens made me look forward to composting down the line with all this chicken waste. Wait. I can't believe that I'm blogging about poop and composting. This whole 'married with a kid on a farm' thing is evidently taking its toll. No more.
  3. I really rocked Weight Watchers this week - making good food choices and cooking a ton from scratch. I learned about inputting my fave recipes into the recipe builder so I know exactly how many points they are. And I am starting to deviate with healthy variations. But don't ask me how many points my favorite mountain dew apple dumplings are. You're really better off not knowing. And so am I for when I want it.
The things that I'm thankful for this week...some big and some little...
  • Thomas, my little traveling champion. In the past three weeks, we've done the midwest, two weddings, two long evenings at Relays, lots of road time on I-5, a 2 1/2 hour ordination in Portland, and he is so good. As long as he gets his naps, he's good to go. I love that.
  • The temperature gauge in my car. I can't believe how addicted I get to knowing how warm or cold it is. Nerdy, I know.
  • My husband, the grill master extraordinaire. I love that he gets to bond with his grill, and I get the night off from the main dish. And his grub, steaks especially, are fabulous.
  • Healthy Choice fudge ice cream bars.
  • Raising the Bar on TNT.
  • Relaying in Thurston. Jonathan's firm is so much fun -- so welcoming and inviting to everyone that joined us at Relay. I ♥ that. He is part of an outstanding law firm, Connolly Tacon & Meserve, that truly gets involved and gives back within the community.

Speaking of Relay...I love this shot of my boys. Next year, we'll be there all 24 hours!
