Thursday nights in the Harbor...
On my last day of work at the firm, we decided to find another way to get together because our paths wouldn't cross as often. Since Jonathan is busy every Thursday - with either fire commissioner meetings or fire trainings - it was a great fit for the Wee Ski and me.
Twice a month, we head up to Mom and Dad's. Thomas gets to spend quality time with Grandma and Grandpa, and I get to try out recipes on my parents and make Jonathan's lunch for Friday at the same time. It's a win-win-win. :)
I nurse Thomas right before we leave with him in his jammies, and then he heads to bed in his carseat at 6:45 pm, just like at home. (Except, normally, he sleeps in his crib, not the car. Only the car when he's screaming. Just kidding. Or not.) We get home around 8 pm, and he slides right into his crib relatively easily.
Tonight, we had peppercorn pork tenderloin, lemon broccoli, butternut squash soup, fresh corn and insalata caprese. I brought up some garlic sun-dried tomato spread (from Cibo Naturals) with crackers.
Sidenote
I adore Cibo Naturals. They have a fantastic lemon artichoke pesto that I love from Metropolitan Market. Costco currently has a duo of the garlic sun-dried tomato spread + basil roasted walnut spread for about $9. (An awesome deal if you know MM's prices :) ) They also have great recipes here.
Back to tonight.
Thomas loved hanging with Grandma and Grandpa. Lots of love for him.
Cousin Avila stopped by with Uncle Mike. You can see here that Thomas is not a discriminating bruiser, here he is pulling Avila's hair too.
They kiss and make up...
...and Thomas goes for it again.
Clearly, this child is destined for living life on the edge. Not even phased by the yelling cousin.
He got to see Uncle Mike, and Avila found her bearings again.
She found something else, too.
...and some more somethings.
And she loved Thomas going in the car and getting to have Grandma and Grandpa to herself. :)
And once the dogs were a little further away, I got this image that I love of her.
So looking forward to our next round - we will be celebrating Mom and Dad's 39th anniversary a few days early!
