Relay For Life of Thurston County • 2009
An awesome start to the Relay...
This is the first time in 8 years that I didn't stay the night at the event. Thomas is sound asleep and I am downloading images from tonight...loving how they're turning out.
Our team was at about $17,600 heading into the Relay. We strategized a few ways to improve our lap bead sales (at about $750 last year)...so we made big posters and staked them into the ground around the track and personally handed out flyers to each tent site.
The results were fantastic. By 7:15 pm, 1 hour and fifteen minutes into the Relay, we'd already sold more lanyards than we sold during the entire event last year. Debbie's husband Bruce did a quick run to Fred Meyer's for a few hundred more yards of string...and we were stocking back up! Can't wait to see where we end up!
Just a few quick photos before heading to bed...
The Survivor's Lap
Thomas's first Relay as a team member - loving the Relay onesie, a gift from Brian and Amy Marlow.
Thomas's first Survivor Lap with Rich
And the luminaria glowing. The team next to us was selling glowing balloons - love seein g the extended exposure as the girls walked the track.
Can't wait to share more!
