overheard in rainier

jonathan to me, while watching the bill engvall show, "honey, that's us!"

switch attention to the tv.

the wife to her kids: "we're going for a walk...for ice cream...with toppings. i'm so excited!!"
the son: "it sucks to be old."

later on

bill engvall: "we don't have to go out to have fun. i mean, we've got ice cream in the freezer! that's fun, right?"
the wife: "right."
bill engvall: "you mean that?"

switch back to a sick jonathan laying on the couch, ice cream in hand.
