the first signs of spring

i just loved this photo.
taken this afternoon, as i stopped home in the middle of four meetings this evening.

one of the best reminders of why i love where i live.
learning that my lack of landscaping skills could be considered "art deco". :)
the joy of viper chasing paige and paige chasing viper around the yard.
to watch the boys squish each other's faces in the grass.
grass stained knees.
laughter.
joy.

one of the best reminders as to why it's okay to slow down,
and just experience.

and when i see viper protecting the front porch, i realize...
it's time to paint the freaking ledge beneath the new door.
