Thirty seven weeks.

  • How Far Along:  37 weeks
  • Size of baby:  just over 6 pounds
  • What the Wee Ski 2.0 has right now: a very active lifestyle.
  • Total Weight Gain/Loss:  Gained five pounds.
  • Maternity Clothes: Loving my stash of Old Navy comfy shirts + Lucy pants. I am a walking advertisement for them.  And fleece vests.  Especially with our indecisive weather systems -- rain, hail, snow, sleet, then sun.
  • Gender:  He's a boy!
  • Movement:  All the time. Especially at night.
  • Sleep:  Moving off the NyQuil and cough syrup, so I'm actually up more at night again, but that's totally OK...since it means I'm getting back on my feet health-wise.  I am being as cautious as I can to keep my activity low key as my body recovers from my back & cold...because my cough definitely reappears when I do too much. Thus, most of today is spent on the sofa or in my office chair.
  • What I miss:  Nothing. I still can't believe that we are actually pregnant after a year. I am grateful every. single. day. But that said, I'm excited to no longer be asked if I'm carrying twins.
  • Cravings:  Nothing right now.  It's a battle of wills to eat enough right now.  Since I was sick, eating did not sound good...and this week is the first week in nearly a month that I've started really cooking in the kitchen again.  I can't believe how much I missed that.  But we've got a new stash of meals in the freezers right now, and I'm feeling better about getting prepared for his arrival after nearly a month of laying in bed and sleeping.
  • Symptoms:  Feeling large and sometimes in charge.  If I'm not wearing a maternity shirt, my belly pops out and Thomas loves pointing it out.  He especially loves bringing our Shrek DVD to me, pointing to the not-so-svelte Shrek and saying "Mommy!".   Nice, kiddo.
  • Best moment this week:  The first round of non-stress tests at the doctor.  I had to do these weekly for 2 months w/Thomas, and I am loving starting just 3 weeks before his estimated arrival.  It's definitely a different ball game with a toddler though...see the pic above.  I get hooked up to the monitors, lay back on the table, and seat Thomas just above my head.  His little legs wrap around my ears for 15 minutes so he is relatively confined.  If he was on the ground, he would be running through the hospital looking for the next fun thing to do.  He took photos with my BlackBerry (we're going to have some lessons later for him on how to shoot a pregnant woman in a flattering position), styled my hair (smooth and sleek BEFORE he touched it), and then he feasted on frosted animal cookies from the nursing staff and a cup of water.  That wasn't so bad until the very last minute when he thought it was hilarious to spit them out all over me while he was giggling.  2.0 is doing well and had great results. After the past week's frustrations, it was awesome to come away from the doc with great results.  Yea!!
