The Urban Chicken Farmer
Jonathan sent me this tonight...from Pemco's hilarious line of Northwest stereotypes.
It's especially funny after the past year of chicken farming, having kept Jelly alive after she went absolutely nuts on Peanut and Butter. I never imagined that I would be setting up a little triage run after she was attacked by the other two BECAUSE SHE IS CRAZY.
I never imagined that I would be able to carry chickens around (especially after our rocky start. And I still love that that entire layout is comprised entirely of haiku).
I never imagined that one day I would be dreaming of a giant composter to use up all our chicken poo for compost.
What's worse is that I will never actually attain the title of "urban chicken farmer"...because, well, farm living isn't quite urban.
I'm just a chicken farmer now.

This is great! Our chickens are finally laying now. It is soooo exciting. Lucille's are big and blue. Many days we get double yokers. Now Mae is laying brown eggs. It is a crazy adventure but super fun. The kiddos love it! I am going to stick with urban chicken farmer until I get the land then I will be like you and just be a chicken farmer! :)
I love that you raise chickens and every time you would talk about the egg-lu it made me chuckle.
