The Wee Ski V2.0 -- The Deets

A little taste of all that's been going through our minds...either due to questions or circumstances. :)

Is this baby another Angus?
Indeed. However, we alternate between calling the baby "2.0" and Angus. Jonathan can still have a child named "Angus" until the child enters the world outside the womb. Then the child will be named.  Named what, you ask?

What are you naming the baby?
I have no idea. Somehow, Jonathan negotiated full naming rights for this kid. I'm still not sure how that happened. I have no say about it, and it freaks me out a bit.

What is it with dog poop and being pregnant?
I don't know. When I was pregnant with Thomas, I had to clean up a crazy amount of dog poo from Viper. Then I became pregnant with Angus 2.0, and somehow, I had to clean up a crazy amount of dog poo from Maggie. You may remember the 2010 Dog Poo Armageddon. I sure as heck know I haven't forgotten it. THE SMELL IS STILL IN MY NOSE.

Are you having a boy or a girl?
Same answer as last time -- too soon to tell. But yes, we will find out. Shelley is too much of a control freak not to.

When did you find out?
Just after I returned from Phoenix, Arizona in August.

How long have you been trying for another baby?
Literally, 359 days. Nearly a year. Since we became pregnant with Thomas within 2 weeks of Jonathan giving the "go ahead", it was a major surprise when we couldn't get pregnant again. I will blog about it a bit more, but in the meantime, just know that my heart goes out to everyone who has trouble conceiving and those who are unable to have their own biological children. It is an incredible emotional roller coaster and we pray every day for mamas who aren't quite mamas yet.

What's been annoying?
Getting the flu shot, and getting a crazy cold from it. I have been sick for a month now. Coupled with being tired all the time, I sleep A LOT. Most nights, Jonathan puts Thomas to bed, and I'm going to bed at the same time -- 6:30 or 7 pm. Last week, I was in bed around 3:30 pm, only getting up for dinner. I am sleeping every time Thomas naps. So it's been tough to get stuff done, since that's normally when I get things done. Really tough. I'm trying to just work on one thing at a time. Making dinner in the morning when I still have energy. The crock pot has been my friend. I am really looking forward to having energy back and being able to keep up with Thomas and life in general.  But I am definitely not complaining -- we are so grateful to be pregnant.

When is Angus 2.0 due?
On Uno de Mayo. May 1, 2011. Halfway between Jonathan's birthday (April 1) and my birthday (June 1). If everything stays on track, we should have a nearly 2 month old at the Relay For Life this year. That will be an adventure. But it will be infinitely better than Relaying during the first trimester with 90 degree weather and having crazy morning sickness. And then having to clean the portapotties.

How has morning sickness been?
Amazingly, much better than with Thomas. I haven't lost my cookies yet. I normally don't eat until late morning. That's been the saving grace this round. Oh, and not driving 85 miles a day. THAT has been awesome.

Having an infant at Relay is the BEST...Charlie was 6 weeks old at her first Relay and I literally just passed her around to anyone that would hold her...LOL, who doesn't want to hold a newborn? I was kind of not your typical first time mommy... I trust my friends SO MUCH that we even let her hangout at the other side of the track that night so Victor and I could get some rest...it was great, until she had a diaper blowout...that was FUN...5am having a friends 11 year old daughter sprinting across the track for more wetwipes and a clean diaper..>LOVE my Relay family!

Again, so HAPPY for you three!

I love reading your blog Shelley. Your wit on the screen is awesome and always makes me smile. I love all the answered questions here too...can't believe you gave Jonathan full naming rights!!!!!! You'll definitely have to give me more back story on that when I see you in Nov. Can't wait! :-)

I could not agree more with Michelle. Yours was the very first blog I ever read and now almost 4 years later I can say I love it still as much (if not more) than I did back then.

I have been praying for you for quite some time since you first mentioned your difficulty in getting pregnant and I will continue to pray for a healthy and easy pregnancy and delivery of Angus 2.0

God bless you Shelley, Jonathan, and Thomas during this special time.

BTW, would it help if I made you some of my extra special chocolate chip cookies and mailed them to you? You said you have been falling behind in your day to day things since you are resting so much.

I just want to help! ;-D
