Voodoo dolls & Mother Nature

Seriously, Mother Nature has got to be kidding.  Today, again, the skies opened up to crazy rain ALL. DAY. LONG.  Normally, the rain doesn't bother me.

But the skies opened up into an incredible thunderstorm (2nd time in a week!) with lightning, and after this shot when the thunder crashed...the power went out on the farm.

Gah.

Thomas woke up, terrified, and the rain kept coming.

So if you're handed lemons, well, endless rain...go play in the puddles, right?  He was a fan until the puddles were over the gravel.

Anguish. I started a voodoo doll of Mother Nature.  I might just leave her to drown in the tub.

He had to knock back a few -- bottled water, that is.  When the power goes out with our wellhouse, we save all the water we can unless it's absolutely needed.

If this weather doesn't turn soon, for more than 36 hours at a time, we may all need another drink or two.

In the meantime, I'll enjoy the sweet scent of Eagan's coming from the kitchen, picked up by my awesome husband on the way home.
