The Blarney Blast!

Saturday night was fantastic. Simply fantastic.

The Blarney Blast was at the Black Lake Grange -- site of our 2008 Rummage for Relay.  However, this event was one night instead of all weekend...and we more than doubled what we made in the Rummage for Relay.

Danielle was our superstar for this event -- organizing and bringing everything together.  Lots of support from the rest of the CTM team.   The event started at 6, and we could only get into the grange at 3:30 pm, so it was hustle, hustle, hustle.   And everything came together.

Green beer + potato bar + awesome silent auction.  Packed house, lots of green, lots of bidding.  Jim's entire family was there.  We held a mini luminaria ceremony in the middle - just after the live celtic band finished.  We shared about Relay and invited everyone there to make a luminaria for someone they love.

Jim spoke to everyone.

It was beautiful and awesome and everything that Relay is about.

Oh, and we raised just shy of $10,000.  Did I forget that part?  With corporate matching, we are hoping that the total is above $15,000.

How's that for team seed money to get this Relay year started?!?

Jim and Thomas together.  Jim was the first Santa Claus that Thomas met -- and he gave him an awesome driving set that Thomas plays with every. single. day.  It is loud and obnoxious, but the Wee Ski loves it.

Lots of happy faces at the Blast.  :)

Jim's brothers-in-law, my husband with my least-favorite-hat-in-the-world, and the Wee Ski.  (Note to self, when carrying a child with deely-bobbers on, every time he turns his head, you will get slapped in the face with a shamrock.  Just FYI.)

And below, one of the table centerpieces that was designed and donated by Finian Road.  On the back side of it is a short explanation of Relay luminaria.

Can't wait to get all the funds logged and get our Relay season rolling!

I have to say that I absolutely love your husbands hat and the part about the shamrock deely-bobbers had me laughing so hard because I would have called them the exact same thing!

Your posts always make me smile and wish we lived closer!

I am in awe of your fundraising prowess my friend. Totally impressed! Pass the props to your whole team for a job well done. What a blast...wish I lived close enough to attend. Miss you!
