Small Successes and Thankful Thursdays • Vol. 22

It's been a good week - a crazy busy week - but good. And here's a few of my small successes as a mom. Small Successes are celebrated over at Faith and Family Live for this reason: it’s important for moms to recognize that all the small successes in our days can add up to one big triumph. In no particular order...
  1. I slept well several nights this week. Really well. So well that I woke up sore from not moving much while I was sleeping. It was so needed. And I am loving the cold nights again -- with the heat down low and all snuggly under microfleece sheets.
  2. I acknowledged that I was a real meanie to Jonathan earlier in the week. We had a significant difference of opinion, and I was less than kind in my words. {This is the understatement of the century} I am confident that I got the better end of the bargain in our marriage. He is an awesome man and a great husband.
  3. I'm almost ready for the tree shindig this weekend - finished a big Costco run, the house is nearly ready, and things are calm. This whole "not working full time anymore" is a sweet gig, I tell you. Much less stress. :)

And things I am thankful for this week:

  • Getting carded today at Costco. Oh, to be young again with baby in the sling and Snowcap in the cart!
  • A great swimming class for Thomas. I love how he's grown in the pool, his instructor, Miss Chelsea, is fabulous, and I really like the parents in the class. Good all around. And never mind that Thomas spit water into Miss Chelsea's mouth after he came up for air. Did I mention how patient she was?
  • Night devotionals with Jonathan before we fall asleep.
  • Jonathan turning on the heat in the morning before Thomas and I get up. It was 22° last night on the farm. 22°. Cold. Husband of the year who braves the tile in the kitchen floor before the heat is on.
  • The soup swap. It's been such a blessing to not have to cook much while getting ready for this weekend. December is such a crazy month with Finian Road and Sprouffske Trees. Having hot soup and making a side is so much easier!
