Down at the Station

We paid a surprise visit to Chief Rita before the Commissioners Meeting tonight...Thomas missed her the last time we stopped by the fire station, so he got to snuggle with her for a few minutes.

He was thrilled with her name badge -- probably wonders why Mom and Dad don't have a sweet toy that retracts back into our clothes!

Thomas found the fire station's toy box, and was totally content. He got a special bear from the Chief and went to his first fire commissioners meeting.

We were there to celebrate the Chief, who just graduated with her Master of Science in Strategic Leadership...with a 4.0 GPA. She simply amazes me. The department is so lucky to have her. And..what a great role model for the Wee Ski. :)

As for Thomas, he was only loud when he cheered for "liberty and justice for all" during the Pledge of Allegiance to open the meeting. He was my super trooper since the meeting began right at his bedtime.

He was unimpressed at his dad's spot at the commissioners' table. He much preferred to play with his dad's name plate. That's where it's at when you're nearly seven months old. :)

So excited to trick or treat at the station this fall...can you guess what costume he got for his first Halloween?
