Small Successes and Thankful Thursdays • Vol. 18

My eighteenth weekly edition of Small Successes for moms (hosted over at Faith and Family Live - read more here!)...as they say, it’s important for moms to recognize that all the small successes in our days can add up to one big triumph. With a two week lapse, it's good to be back!
  1. Thomas and I successfully made the adventure back to the midwest. With a good deal of flying and driving and several evening events (which are not his strength), I was so impressed with how well he did. We have slept a good deal since we've been back, but it's been well earned.
  2. I started Weight Watchers. After meeting with my fantastic doc for followup care after Thomas's birth, we went through a number of things to get my body back on track. Jonathan offered to do it with me, so that I'm not making two sets of different meals each day. That - in and of itself - has been a huge blessing to me for accountability and motivation. And after a week, we are down more than 10 pounds together.
  3. I took yesterday as a 'downtime' day. We headed only to St. Columban and Safeway, and spent the rest of the day at home. He napped, I worked on projects and got caught up a bit around the house. Jonathan went to the Bank Night and turned in our funds for our team, and brought dinner home.

The things I'm thankful for this week...

  • Thomas sleeping through the night last night without waking to nurse. He actually went to bed around 6:00. I woke him at 9 pm to change him into his sleeper and for a dreamfeed. He woke only briefly around 1:30 am and I just rubbed his back so he stayed asleep. That was a huge step for him!
  • Rain last night. I loved falling asleep to the pounding rain. That's one of my favorite sounds (especially AFTER the new roof!).
  • Clean clothes. I love the scent of fresh clothes from the dryer. Not so much after four consecutive loads, but I've learned that the clothes won't wash themselves!

Shelley!! I miss you!!!! I've been reading as I can. I've loved all the latest pics and stories. You always inspire me. We need to chat one day.

I to have been doing WW! I've lost almost 25 lbs. Ok, maybe closer to 21...LOL but I'm really proud of you. In fact, I started a FB group of friends of mine and friends of friends to support each other. We post GREAT recipes, updates, problems, vents, etc. Can I invite you to join us (because I know you....we invite people we can trust). Let me know! We're small, but we're supportive!

I'm so glad you safely traveled, and had a down day. That is MY day TODAY.

I love your spirit as always. Have a great day!
