Today

...is the day Thomas gets baptized during Mass.

While I am so looking forward to this sacrament for him, my heart hurts that my mother-in-law and father-in-law cannot be there, but for the communion of saints.

I can imagine that they would love to see the baptismal gown that Grandpa Ski crocheted for Jonathan's baptism 27 years ago...being worn by their grandson tonight.

Oh, Shelley. I am about to cry. That is awesome. What a special, special "hand-me-down." Wow.

Last Saturday, Daniel wore the gown that Aileen, Noreen and I wore. It was also worn by at least four of his cousins.

In addition to the graces of baptism, I love the family heirloom part of baptismal gowns. Yours is extra-special.

I love it! He is in good company - I was baptized this day 26 years ago and had my own little celebration today - Mass and confession - trying to be pure and holy once more! Hooray! Thomas and I became Catholic on the same day, just a few years apart.

Prayers to you and your family.
