My fifteenth weekly edition of Small Successes for moms (hosted over at Faith and Family Live - read more here!)...as they say, it’s important for moms to recognize that all the small successes in our days can add up to one big triumph.
Among this week's successes...
- I found my holy grail of breastpumps on Craigslist: the Medela Freestyle.
Barely used, in the original packaging...for half off retail. My rental from Providence ends in a few weeks, and this was just in time. A third of the size, battery powered, and so much easier to haul around. - I let 'just enough' be okay.
Wednesday seems to be the day when I lose all momentum and energy...so I took a three hour nap with Thomas and snuggled in with him when I'd normally be pushing to get stuff done. Seeing how much he's already grown over the past twenty weeks, I am soaking in every moment I can with him while he's still small. - I didn't kill the baby chickens.
Seriously. Right now, I am counting down the days until they are outside all the time. God love their tiny little hearts of poultry, but they are driving me nuts. They are eating like they've never seen food before, and it's almost futile to keep the kitchen clean with them in it. I can't complain about it though, or Jonathan reminds me of how I want fresh eggs...and he told me they'd make me crazy until they are outside. He was right. I said it -- he was right.
And for the things that I'm thankful for this week...
- Auntie Sandi Ski, who took such good care of Thomas when she cut his hair.
- Our amazing Relay For Life team, which passed over $8000 today when we finished logging all the flower basket sales. There's a BBQ on Friday in downtown Oly if you're in the area!
- ViolinMama. A sweet email which just made my day! ♥
- My parents. A great time with them this past Sunday, where Thomas got lots of quality time with them.
- My son. Who reminds me daily that the best gift is presence, not presents. Spending time with him is the best thing in the world. So incredibly hard to believe that nineteen weeks ago last night, we were bringing him home from the hospital.
Speaking of my son, who turns 20 weeks old today...here he is sporting his new shades (that Papa picked out!)...
This is often the scene after a car ride home. Happens when you live 20+ miles from most things. It's usually preceded by screaming at the top of his lungs because he is sick of riding in the car.

Adorable picture! Great job this week - sometimes just enough is just right.
Shelley!
Ok - you trying to make my eyes sting with some baby tears? LOL You are a sweetheart that I should thank!!! I'm humbled by you. Your comments made my day!
Now for the rest - GREAT list. You had my dying at "little hearts of poultry". That was awesome!!!
YAY on the breast pump, and YES on the nap...they do grow too fast. Enjoy it. I loved your sentiment that presence is better than presents. You are SO good!
Have a great weekend!!! Much love!!
I love the shades! I just want to pinch his little cheeks ;)
