My twelfth weekly edition of Small Successes for moms (hosted over at Faith and Family Live)...as they say, it’s important for moms to recognize that all the small successes in our days can add up to one big triumph.
It was my first week back in the office, albeit part time instead of full time. A big adjustment for all, but really, what hasn't been with Thomas? :) Onto this week's successes...
- I asked for help.
Thomas is getting baptized this Saturday, after we rescheduled it from last month. Since I was looking for any day that worked with Father's schedule and our family's, I didn't realize it would end up being at the end of my first week back. My incredible assistant, Shelly, had given us a gift certificate to Merry Maids, so I called it in. They were amazing. Admitting that I couldn't do it all was a big step for me, and it was just what was needed. The house looks immaculate for the family BBQ after the baptism, and I am totally at peace. - I successfully prepped the night before both days of work.
FlyLady, eat your heart out. The sink was shined, clothes for me and the Wee Ski were laid out, lunches packed, bottles of milk defrosted and prepped, and I was able to get up and get going in the morning. Jonathan was an angel - when I asked him for help with getting ready, he immediately stepped up and helped. - I got up at 4:15 this morning.
To help adjust to waking earlier for work, I got up at the same time today. By 7 am, I had been to Safeway, the gas station, and spent a few hours catching up on photo editing.
This week's reasons to give thanks...
- My amazing husband. He was so patient with me during a time that wasn't easy. My favorite moment? When I got home from Safeway this morning to find him and the Wee Ski asleep in bed. When I walked in, he made the "camera signal" with his hand...because he wanted a photo of them together. They're finding their morning rhythm together, and I love it.
- Grammy Sandy Brownrice. To help with the transition, she came down to the house both Tuesday and Thursday to take care of Thomas. He can sleep in until 7 am and Jonathan gets ready just as she's walking in the door. Such a blessing to have her here. When I walk in the door, he's all smiles and joy. Nothing better in the world than knowing that he's happy with others. :)
- An awesome training in Reno last weekend. I love our Training Task Force, and feel so blessed by them.
