Small Successes and Thankful Thursdays • Vol. 9

My ninth weekly edition of Small Successes for moms (hosted over at Faith and Family Live)...as they say, it’s important for moms to recognize that all the small successes in our days can add up to one big triumph.
  1. I am down to one small box left in the mountain o'clothes (mentioned here and here). As soon as it's gone (in the next few days), we will be able to move the treadmill out of Thomas's nursery and into our room. The only non-nursery things left in the nursery will then be a piano and the giant punching bag. I suppose that makes for a well-rounded child, doesn't it?
  2. I got back into the pool. It felt like ages since I'd been swimming. It's definitely not as much fun without Liz there, but it felt so good to be in the water again. Thomas spent an hour and a half with the other kids in the Playcare at the Y, and he slept the whole way home. I am really excited to sign us up as "Little Shrimps" when he turns 6 months old, so we can take swimming classes together.
  3. The kitchen has stayed clean since it's deep clean last week. I love love love seeing the countertops all the time, not covered in projects, mail, and boxes.
I think ViolinMama is starting a trend - because I'm not the only one following her lead and adding in a second little part to the Small Successes...a short list of things I'm thankful for this week!
  • My husband, who has been working diligently on Thomas's room. When I fell asleep the other night around 7 pm with the Wee Ski, he worked around us and surprised me with all he'd done when I woke up!
  • Sunny mornings. A rare find right now. Loving it this morning.
  • Daily Mass. I have never been able to attend as consistently as I have since Thomas has been born -- mainly because there was no Mass that ended before 6:30 a.m. when the market opened! And our little parish is finally starting to feel like home.
  • Lori and Lorraine at John L. Scott. They've been working like mad to get my house sold in this crazy real estate market, and I am so appreciative of all they are doing.

And for a little Wee Ski...here's Thomas with Papa...doing his trademark "copy the dog's panting" face. Nice.

Oh goodness. Keep sharing these - but I laugh because I delight in them as much as I feel "tortured" by not being able to just give him a hug and pinch those cheeks. He is a TOTAL cutie and such a blessing!!! You must smile ALL DAY LONG!! May God keep blessing you.....

Oh wait...haha, the pic was part of the Small Successes -HAHAH! I'm slow.

Thanks for the sweet mention. I have to give all credit to another blogger for the list - Neoteric. But I loved your thankfulness and your GREAT successes! The pool sounded great, the organizing too, and you gotta love the kitchen - and daily mass! Have a great rest of your week! Love on that baby!! Did I ever post on the incredible work on the picture birth book? If I did not, I need to apologize to you. I read every page and was emotional with every word. You are blessed with IMMENSE talent. Thanks for sharing it!
