10 things: Autumn on the farm

  1. Check out the woolly out-of-control Christmas trees. Hard to believe that in the next month, all the trees will be sheared and the whole farm will have the fresh scent of fir. It will *almost* be Christmas season! And yes, that is Viper, scooting her way down the hillside.
  2. The cows in the header are actually Sprouffske cattle. I've had a few questions as to whether or not they are random cows. You've also seen these cows on the blog here and here. And for the record, there is not a cow named Angus, and the cows are not where Jonathan came up with the name.
  3. We hit 35 degrees on the farm last week...and I changed the sheets to the microfleece sheets. Cozy doesn't even begin to describe it. I ♥ Costco.
  4. There's chili in the crock pot. Cumin. Oregano. Yum.
  5. Unpacking a number of boxes from the house in Tacoma and cleaning out the office. Starting on Angus's room this week. Love how it feels to be able to purge old stuff and find order. Jonathan made amazing progress on the office today (yea for the bye week for the Seahawks!).
  6. We have just three trees in our yard that will change colors. Everything else is fir. One of the three is already red.
  7. Loved the season premieres last week. I have been re-watching most of them as I've been editing photos and getting caught up. And I'm finding the new 90210 as a guilty little pleasure that flashes back to high school and college.
  8. The forecast this week is high 70s and low 80s. Seriously can't believe it. From 35 to 80 in one week. After fall starts.
  9. Maggie's doing really well today. Like night and day from yesterday. She's sleeping on her bed, outfitted with Jonathan's "land before time" sheets from when he was a little kid. Or when he was in college. Not really sure. :)
  10. And Viper's suffering from a serious case of jealousy...thinking Maggie's getting all the attention. So here's another pic of her, post-yard-digging and now spazzing out on the chair.
