And the winner is...

Last week, we attended the 2008 Forty Under 40 at the new Chambers Bay Golf Course in University Place. Lots of food, games, and a great program put on by the Business Examiner.
The award recognizes outstanding South Sound business and community leaders under the age of 40...who have made accomplishments and significant contributions to their businesses, industries and communities.
Jonathan was one of the 40 recipients this year in 2008. Each winner was profiled in the Business Examiner, under the theme "What Drives You". His profile from the paper can be found here.

My favorite quote that was shared about him that night? Defining "what drives him"...
"Being able to help people on the worst day of their life...
whether it's with a legal problem or a medical emergency."

It was a lot of fun seeing a number of people I hadn't seen in ages. Michael Welch, who was in Mike's class back in the day, was one of the recipients. Since El Gaucho was a major sponsor, one of my good friends from high school (now the executive chef there), Tristan Holst was there as well.
I was a bit jealous...the event has improved a ton since I won in 2003...and Jonathan received a sweet bag of goodies from the sponsors. Two bottles of wine, a spice rub from El Gaucho, dinner for 2 at the Emerald Queen, a bouquet of flowers (which Jonathan left behind) and $100 gift certificates to El Gaucho, Sea Grill, and Savi Day Spa.
I'm pretty glad that Jonathan doesn't have an ounce of metrosexuality in his body...so chances are high that Mrs. Ski might receive the day spa certificate!
I'm pretty sure that we are the first married couple who have both received the honor (and each of us at 26 years old, no less!).
Congrats, Doc...I'm so proud of you!
Now, about that spa certificate...

Congrats to your hubby, and awesome about the perks! It is such a small world. I just saw Mike Welch today at his work, I will have to congratulate him when I go back there in two weeks!
