life around the farm

today is our six month anniversary...and in just 127 days, i will be living on a farm in rainier.

every year, vickie, stella and i get together and do our predictions for the upcoming year, which we open the next new year's day. "i will be living on a farm" was not one of my predictions.

the other night, jonathan and i took some time by ourselves with the dogs and walked the tree fields and talked. caught up. started adjusting to the fact that he and i no longer work 2 floors away from one another - as he started last week at a great law firm in olympia - closer to home.

it was a strangely cool and cloudy night...so i brought along the 5d. he might not have been so excited about that part. :) i love the 'vegetation' shot below - even if it should be where the grass is. good thing he mowed since then!


i called maggie over, which means that viper needed to run in front of the camera lest i forget who she is.

sap is cool. as long as it's not in my hair or on my car.

down one of the 'lanes' of the tree fields...

we walked down to the train tracks on the lower part of the property...this is where i can't wait for a photo shoot...there are so many cool things you can do with them.

as long as you remember that the dogs playing on the tracks...

...makes their feet all greasy. seriously...eww.

it should be noted that maggie has successfully taken on all 3 of these dogs - at one time.

and jonathan was good to me and took me over to an open field to watch the sunset...a few of these shots i'm going to be using in the photography: a to z blitz in september on shelley mauss photog: the blog.

there is something wrong with the world when we are wearing fleece, sweaters, and knit hats in august. it must be that global warming. :)
