three reasons...

...why sunday was a lame day.
  • the morning kicked off with a guy at my front door saying, "you're not going to like me. i just hit your car on the street."
  • the afternoon at emerald downs was full of thunder, lightning, buckets of rain, and horses racing through mud. the dirt-hater in me was not what you would call a 'happy camper'.
  • the evening ended with a giant cleaning-fest complete with my amazing dyson animal vac...only to discover at the end that viper showed her displeasure for the vacuum by letting me know she was #1 and #2...all over my sparkling clean bed. it was great. {heavy sarcasm}

but redemption always comes...and this week, it came on wednesday. one of my favorite quotes ever took place today...

the claims adjuster was to come by this afternoon to appraise the damage to the bmw. i had gone back to work by the time he arrived, and jonathan was waiting for him. the appraiser's first words?

"i spoke with your mom this morning about the damage to her car..."

jonathan's response...

"you mean my fiancee'?"

ahhh...life is good. our age gap is so big now that i'm his mom. i just needed a little perspective to appreciate the lameness of sunday! :)

We were that lame on Sunday, eh? Sorry to hear about the car ...

You might want another claims adjuster to look at the car, tho. Sounds like the guy who came by today is BLIND.

They must really think you are old, because I'm the one that didn't get carded at the Relay Wrap-up Dinner.

I'm not sure about the adjustor being blind, but maybe you should get some glasses in your old age. "Where are my keys again..."
