home sweet home...

unpacking has been remarkably easy tonight...my warm weather clothes are at lindsay's house, and my luggage is still in germany! all i had to unpack was my backpack with my camera...so i suppose most of the important things made it home safe! :)

the scene above is of the ljubljanica river, flowing through the center of ljubljana...from one of the bridges. it was absolutely beautiful in town, with a huge market and lots of little shops. good thing it was sunday, because most of the shops were closed, so i didn't do too much damage.

all in all, the last two weeks have been an amazing experience. the travel is just beginning to sink in - from the nutty adventures and the highs and lows - can't wait to finish the 'post travel processing' as i return to the real world. especially in this week of thanksgiving - all the things i take for granted in my own little piece of the world...look for some musings or ponderings to come.

for now, one of my favorite "only in a formerly-communist-though-they-don't-call-it-communist-they-call-it-socialist country" graffitis ever:

and my two peas in a pod, outside the slovenian restaurant that not only served 'horse', but also 'stallion'. on the left is darnelle, the international relationship manager for the society, and on the right is iris, the head of int'l relay for life training. between us is the goofy chef who had a slovenian 'ding how' for us all! iris and darnelle were fabulous guides and trainers, absolutely loved it.

and now...time to try to head to bed. here's hoping my pink blanket will be back home by thanksgiving!

and a little p.s. -- welcome, amy, to the blogging world! ♥ i love your first photo!
