the new phoebe house
spent yesterday afternoon photographing the opening of the new playroom at the new phoebe house: a place for moms and their children who have been impacted by physical abuse and substance abuse, particularly meth. a little oasis for those women who are seeking to change their life, with support to help find healing and hope.
executive women international of tacoma sponsored the redesign. bringing in new furniture, carpeting, paneling, replacing all the toys for the kids, adding in a library of books for both mom and their wee ones. ewi's dedication will have an incredible long-term impact - providing laughter and joy for everyone who will be part of the new phoebe house.
due to confidentiality for the moms and their children, most of the images can't be released publicly, so i added a few of the ewi women. aimee (shown above with her mom) was one of those instrumental women who helped the whole project come together.
the finishing touch? margaret lundberg painted all of the walls in a "under the sea" theme. her talents are simply amazing...she's picture with her favorite wall. simply beautiful.
