lucky rocketship underpants

"you know, hobbes, some days even my lucky rocketship underpants don't help."
-calvin

and today was one of those days. never did i imagine, when i woke up bright and early at 6 a.m. for a very fun day, that the next several hours would suck. would really suck. would really really suck.

you see, it was around 6:30 a.m. that i began the first load of laundry for my weekly saturday cleaning. i had some peeps coming over at 10 a.m., and wanted to have everything done by 9, so i could take a shower and be ready by the time they got here.

all was good, until i walked back past the bathroom with clean dry clothes to my bedroom. and found the tub full. and the "man's throne" (as mikey and jonathan call it) overflowing and flooding the bathroom. and it was flooding it with icky grossness that just makes my skin crawl.

my drain line to the sewer was backed up. uber backed up. so much so that if i had run this load of wash yesterday morning before i went to work, i would have returned home to a completely flooded home, flooded with icky grossness. so for that, i am incredibly grateful that it was today, when i was home to catch it.

so i must give e-props to roto-rooter, who showed up on my doorstep one hour after i called them. after six hours and lots of moolah later, i am the proud owner of a new clean out, new piping, and lots of chemical goodness to stop the roots from taking over my pipes in the backyard.

more e-props go to my fabulous pals who looked past the icky grossness and went with me and my fluffy (read: curls without a shower) hair to the healing garden tea room. good times to take my mind off things.

and some final e-props to kili, who after hearing i couldn't use the water in my house for 6-8 hours, took me on a photoadventure around town. some of our fabulous shots are above. so fun to be on the other side of the lens for a change. we took home depot and target by storm, onto point defiance and out to gig harbor for dinner with papa and the monsignor.

and now, hours later, i am enjoying the sweet scent of freshly shampooed carpets and fresh plug-ins from bath and body works, and looking forward to crawling into happy clean sheets.

and with clean lucky rocketship underpants for the morning. :)

You rule!!! I had so much fun. It was such a good kick in the butt for me as well. I know that my day wouldn't have been as fun as without you. love ya lots girlfriend. I am working on getting my inspiration. I read the scrapbooking book and am on to watching the dvd, but really, just watching you last night helped a lot with stuff I am doing.
