Today...

Today, I am very grateful for a week away with my family.
Today, missing the Hawaiian sun.  Especially as the Washington rain soaked through my clothes.
Today, I love my two sweet boys...even if they are having trouble adjusting to the time changes.
Today, I am a little overwhelmed at being home again.
Today, I am glad that I have no remaining airline travel on my calendar -- at all.
Today, as we got off the plane at just after midnight, John Paul finished his 20th flight.
Today, I am glad for time with my parents who are amazing grandparents.
Today, Thomas has been looking for BearBearMom and BearBear.
Today, I am grateful for this week's pool time, ocean time, and play time as we unpack and get settled back in.
Today, after a half hour of holiday insanity at Costco, we headed to Big Tom's.
Today, Thomas ate his first tater tot and fell asleep WITH IT IN HIS MOUTH.
Today, jet lagged doesn't begin to describe how we feel.
Today, I am looking forward to John Paul's top two teeth to come in.
Or I will go crazy.

Today, the beautiful northwest autumn has given way to wind & rain & the leaves have fallen to the ground.
Today, I'd like a fast forward to winter and freshly fallen snow.
Today, I have unpacked nearly twenty boxes of holiday projects that came via UPS while I was gone.
Today, I have sorted, packed, delivered or shipped as much back out as humanly possible.

Today, I am grateful for those who fight for our freedom.  It definitely isn't free.

Hi Shelley,
I went to WWU, and know Mike and Kristine. I've been reading your blog for a while (you're the reason I'm now in love with quinoa!!!). I think you're hilarious, and I love your photographic style. So, anyway, I moved to Maui on Nov. 6th, and while out and about exploring in my first couple weeks here, I saw you and your whole family in Kaanapali. Perhaps even on the way to take this picture! I didn't feel like the middle of the sidewalk was the appropriate time and place to stop and tell you how much I enjoy your blog. I also had this nagging feeling that I would accidentally call your dad BearBear, or something! But I do, very much enjoy your blog, and your outlook on life, etc.

In other news, if you know of any must dos (the plural of "do"), let me know!

Thanks,
Kate Sandbo
