Forty weeks.

  • How Far Along:  40 weeks
  • Size of baby:  7 pounds, 8 ounces (estimated)
  • What the Wee Ski 2.0 has right now: a very active lifestyle.  But not active enough to get him out.
  • Total Weight Gain/Loss:  Gained six pounds.
  • Maternity Clothes:  Picked up a few spring pieces, finally, because I am READY TO BE DONE WITH WINTER AND RAIN.  Loving my Lucy pants and will sing their praises FOREVER.
  • Gender:  He's a boy!
  • Movement:  All the time.
  • Sleep:  Mostly two hours at a time...so waking up every three hours to feed him outside the womb sounds like a DREAM COME TRUE.  Most mornings, I wake up anywhere from 2-4 am, and I'm up for the day.  So I crash around 7:30, just after the Wee Ski 1.0, and try to nap for at least an hour when he goes down in the afternoon.  But it did give me a chance to watch the Royal Wedding on Friday and the Beatification today, without feeling guilty for losing sleep.
  • What I miss:  Nothing. I still can't believe that we are actually pregnant after a year. I am grateful every. single. day.
  • Cravings:  Nothing right now.  It's a battle of wills to eat enough right now. But we did make a celebratory "we're at 40 weeks!" run to Burgerville today...and I'll tell you...IT WAS TASTY DELICIOUS.
  • Symptoms:  People having no qualms about asking me when I'm due.  Then they seem surprised when I say "today", as if he has a timer and comes out of the oven on cue.  I WISH.
  • Best moment this week:  Today at Mass.  Father Cerrone started Mass with an intercession to St. Gerard Majella (who has been this pregnancy's patron saint -- as he is the patron saint of expectant mothers and safe deliveries) -- for our baby who is due today on Divine Mercy Sunday.  He also brought with him a relic of the true cross, and gave the Wee Ski 2.0 a blessing after Mass.  The week has been emotional, to say the least, with very little progress toward a VBAC delivery.  The Divine Mercy has been of great consolation, as it is all about "Jesus, I trust in you."  Never been truer than when my fears and worries about delivery come into play.
  • Second best moment this week:  Right after Mass today, when the Skis headed south to Centralia for a mini-spree before 2.0 arrives.  We headed to the park (pics below) where Thomas played like mad in his Easter clothes.  Jonathan took my BlackBerry so I could be "fully present in the moment of having just 3 Skis outside the womb". (Does he know me or what?) We ran by the Carter's outlet, and I did the one thing I swore I would NEVER, EVER do.  I bought the boys matching outfits.  It seriously must be pregnancy brain.  And then I bought a second coordinating outfit for 2.0 just so they could be cute but not matching.  WHO AM I?  And then we topped it off with a Burgerville run before heading home.  Thomas sat in the backseat pointing out EVERY SINGLE ANIMAL we passed on the way home.  The funniest ones?  The giant alpaca farm in Tenino -- he couldn't figure out if they were cows or horses or fuzzy horses.  And we all laughed that because we hit the early Mass in Tenino this morning, we were still home before we would have been had we hit the 10:30 in Yelm.
  • Alrighty...onto some photos!!

Is this not my kid or what with his mouth wide open?!?

Seriously appreciate Kate's advice on where to find little boy shirts & ties...this one even has a pocket square!  I LOVE the orange and blue together!

My two favorite boys (at least today!)...

At the helm of his Big Toy ship.

And happier than a clam with Papa pushing him on the swings.
