The strength of this year's March was amazing -- more than 6,000 people gathered together to show support for those who have no voice. As a previously 'unwanted child' who was adopted, this movement is so close to my heart. The gift of life is so precious -- something that we should never, ever take for granted.
It's hard to believe that it's been 5 years since I traveled back to Washington DC to the national March For Life with Mike and his students from Western.
Things are definitely different this year. With health care at the fore front of the legislative session, people are coming together to make sure that their voices are heard. Senator Stevens brought up Senate Bill 6452 which would significantly damage crisis pregnancy centers in our state. House Bill 2837 is a similar bill in the house - which many of those in attendance brought up to their legislators before and after the March.
Kathy McEntee's spirit was felt by all, especially with the fantastic turnout. We missed Noreen this year, but are so excited to meet her new baby Thomas, born the day before the March for Life. Her sister, Aileen, was a great emcee in Noreen's absence. We loved seeing so many longtime familiar faces.
