Our beloved son...

My favorite image from the day. During the emergency c-section, the nurses laid Thomas in Jonathan's arms where I could see him...safe in the arms of his papa.

A long and emotional day, indeed. Until I've finished his birth story, it's enough to say that we've been given more grace today than we have ever deserved.

Jonathan's sleeping soundly on the sofa next to my bed, Thomas is resting more calmly than he has all day in the special care nursery, and I am feeling incredible peace in my heart.

We could all use your prayers as Thomas fights off an infection in his lungs, which may keep him here up to 10 days. He's looking stronger each time Jonathan goes to visit, and Jonathan got to hold him for about twenty minutes the last time he was with him.

His guardian angel has been watching over him and keeping him safe. We've placed our trust in our faithful God, who brought our son to us.

When our energy's returned a bit, we'll share the rest of the story.

And right now, I couldn't ask for anything more.
