In the immortal words of Thomas's namesake...

"...it's time to blow this pop stand!"

Today, 6 days after Thomas Lawrence was born...he's heading home!

For us, his turnaround in the last few days is testament to both the prayers he's received from our amazing family & friends and the fantastic medical care he's received from Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia.

This morning, the pediatrician sat down with us with a wide smile and reviewed his update. She decided to end his antibiotic treatment 12 hours early, and with that, Thomas is a free little man tonight!

Jonathan and I spent most of the day tying up the loose ends, thanking his nurses that stopped by to say goodbye, and preparing for our first night at home. Thomas and I are scheduled to meet his new pediatrician, Dr. Lindgren, tomorrow morning at Healthy Future Pediatrics.

I couldn't stop crying when we were packing him up. It was surreal to be thinking of bringing him home when just two days earlier we were advised of another week in the NICU.

And on his head...there is a group of women who knit hats for the newborns in the Special Care Nursery as their gift to him...they've been doing it for years. They just drop bags of itty bitty hats off for the nurses to give to the wee ones.

How cute does his hat look?

We are blessed with a happy and now, healthy little baby boy.

Life is so very, very good.
