25 days of christmas | day six

"yes, shelley, there is a santa claus. and his name is brownrice."

i am somewhat of a clotheshorse. perhaps that's an understatement. this tiny little closet in my north end home was the only closet in my bedroom.

when i bought this house in 2001 (yes, i know, jonathan was a freshman in college then. ha ha.), i filled this closet pretty quickly. so i bought this wardrobe from every woman's favorite place on earth, but filled that up too. i expanded my reach to the spare bedroom's closet, the hall closet, and finally, the back hall closet.

and this, my friends, is what all of those closets have been reduced to. thanks to sandy and liz, they staged a clothing intervention where we cleaned everything out to prepare for the move to rainier. divided things into keeps and give aways, into two seasons (to unpack now and to unpack later), tees/sweatshirts to quilt later, and things to toss. there's about a closet's worth of stuff that's heading to rainier this weekend, and a small portion is staying up here until after the wedding. the rest is going.

seriously, it's like heaven on earth. i keep walking in and out of the closet (since it used to have a gigantic pile of clothes in it) and might even pull a sleeping bag into it tonight to sleep.

these two are my christmas angels. what took about two hours with them would have taken me all weekend.

life is simply better with a little brownrice added.

thank you two. i love you!
