let them eat cake...but not in tacoma!

i blog about this with an invisible force field around me - since jonathan's still pissed he didn't go cake tasting. :) who did accompany me? the estrogen militia's leading cake lady - miss lindsay milasich. she was awesome.


the original plan was a big cake tasting party at the first place we'd been recommended to...celebrity cake studio at freighthouse square on a saturday morning with linds, g-pity, jonathan, my aunt, and me. however, celebrity let me know that they're closed THE ENTIRE WEEK of our wedding for christmas. and thus, we did not let anyone eat cake there.

my super fabulous hair stylist recommended a place that did her wedding cake - and she loved them - so we headed up to creme de la creme in renton. since it was a tuesday and not a saturday - linds and i were on our own.

anyway - it was details galore. and lots of samples. you shouldn't be surprised that my favorite cake was a citron cake - white cake with three different fillings - lemon, key lime, and tangerine. though it took me directly to cake heaven, it was important to try it 2, 3 or 4 times to make sure it was really that good. the prince will love it.

then onto design. lindsay scratched the idea of my sweet j & s monogram on the side...so we narrowed it down to a handful of finalists - which the 'wedding women' will be deciding on in the next few days. below are a few of my favorite designs...

honestly - this is my current fave. i love the layers and slight variation from layer to layer. i snapped it in two shots to get the close up detail.



and my vote for ugliest cake topper? nice veil, peacock bride. are you almost going to hold hands with your groom? "not touching, can't get mad!"

for us, i think it will be cake toppers, be damned. unless i can craft a really sweet tiny waisted little caricature of us...heh heh.

just kidding.
