nearly thirty years ago, my mom was at work at tacoma general hospital. she got the phone call from my dad that went a little something like this..."karol? do you want a baby? there is a little girl who is available...but we have to pick her up tomorrow!"
two weeks from today, i will celebrate my 30th birthday. and in those 30 years, i have been blessed with the world's best family...all because my mom and dad adopted me.
granted, they ended up with the world's best daughter in the process, but that's besides the point. :)
thank you, mom, for saying yes on that day. for loving me and supporting me and listening to me and keeping up with our daily chats and taking care of viper and for your laugh and your crazy 'big k' ways. your influence on me has made me who i am today. [see the previous paragraph :) ]
i love you. thanks for the last 30 years.
