the start of triduum

"but if I washed your feet...then you must wash each other’s feet."
john 13:14

today begins my favorite period of the liturgical year...the ending of lent and easter right around the corner.

during the homily for holy thursday mass today, pope benedict quotes saint leo the great:

The “dress of love” makes Christians worthy of this name. A person without love is dark inside. Now that we are getting closer to the celebration of Holy Mass, we should ask ourselves whether we wear this dress of love.

Let’s ask the Lord to remove any hostility away from our soul, to remove any feelings of self-sufficiency and to really clothe us in clothes of love, so that we will be bright people, not people who belong to darkness.”

a good reminder for me in my sometimes unforgiving ways... :)

wishing you a blessed triduum.

Blessings to you, Shelley. Mom said she saw you at Mass last night. She was thrilled to chat with you.
