of birthdays and food & wine

a fun, fun weekend...finding the first calm of it this morning at 5. among the highlights...

  • started thursday night - speaking to the relay for life of sumner/bonney lake. one of the largest events in pierce county behind tacoma, and lots of my st. andrew's peeps there. so much fun to see everyone.
  • friday was at the american cancer society office in seattle all day - meeting with part of the great west division training task force. my first time putting faces to names and voices, and it was so much fun. we're working on the division's support and tool kit for event chairs across the 12 state region. so different than what i've done with tacoma - and i love it. so excited for may - when we'll all meet up in reno to plan the leadership summit for the division next fall. an incredibly talented group of people!
  • friday night was at seattle u - as a witness in jonathan's last mock trial of his law school career. so much fun to see him in his element. i got to be a bartending chick who'd been dumped by her loser boyfriend who may have set fire to a bar. it was pretty sweet. :) he did a fantastic job - so proud of him.
  • saturday morning had a super fabulously fun engagement shoot on lake washington with art and kristina - their wedding just 3 short months away.
  • saturday afternoon and evening was down at the capital food and wine festival with the prince - i learned how to pour beer for red hook. since i've consumed all of 2 beers in my whole life - it was an adventure. stella, vickie and lindsay would be proud to see that my bartending skills has vastly improved over mike and kristine's wedding and the keg incident. loved seeing his friends and catching up with people i hadn't seen in years.
  • early sunday morning was channeling my inner martha for jonathan's birthday...thanks to the inspiration and guidance of my favorite muses...
  • took in palm sunday mass at st. martin's - where they sung the gospel. took me back to the days of mount angel w/the monks and their amazing voices. i loved it. a great way to begin holy week.
  • sunday afternoon and evening was in rainier with jonathan and his family - celebrating both his cousin and his birthdays. maggie, his dog, and viper spent some quality time together, in which maggie only tried to eat viper twice. good times. :)

lots ahead for this week - with some big packages to be shipped out for my photography, and preparing for easter and a weekend up at skagit valley.

and last but not least, happy birthday-though-you-don't-celebrate-them-anymore to michael g...i don't even know if i can count that high for candles! :)

On behalf of Maggie I would like to inform your readers that, Viper did growl, and pick the fight, but Maggie just simply finished it. Maybe Viper should realize that she is smaller than any of Maggie's chew toys, and take that as a warning.

Thanks for a great birthday!!!!
