last night, my dell crashed.
you don't realize how often you use something, until you are unable to use it. i spent an hour and a half last night on the phone with dell support, and they were fabulous. kris is bringing in a system CD which will hopefully hold the answers to the meltdown, and prevent a significant data loss in the replacement of the hard drive.
and yes, i did learn a fabulous lesson about backing up your data. unfortunately, i'm only backed up through january. so should my dell be smiling again later today, i will be backing up every project i'm working on.
as for the project i'm supposed to be working on this weekend... well... that's up in the air now. as for all my photos...well, they're hidden, somewhere in there.
if my dell isn't smiling by the end of today or monday, then some data recovery company will be very pleased that i'm calling them. :)

dude, that happened to me a few years back. Only I ended up losing everything....an entire line of designs for flip-tops. tons of creative musings....Ugh. I still cringe thinking about it. I preach the virtues of backing up files, but am I? nope. Thanks for reminding me! Maybe I'll start tomorrow...(knock on wood)
